Prof Dr Waheeb Essa Alnaser (Born in 4th May 1959, Hidd Town, kingdom of Bahrain) is currently the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Scientific Research and Innovation at Arabian Gulf University (AGU), Kingdom of Bahrain, since September 2021. He joined AGU in Feb 2021. He is Professor of Applied Physics at Department of Natural Resources and Environment, College of Graduate Studies. Previously, He served at University of Bahrain (UoB) for 40 years. He retired from UoB in January 2021. He served as Vice President of Academic Programs Graduate Studies at University of Bahrain for 6 years, and Vice President for Planning and Development for 3 years, and Dean of Science for 6 years and Dean of scientific Research for 2 years, Chairman of Physics for 4 years. He is professor of Applied Physics since 1998, Chairman for Arab Section at International Solar Energy Society (ISES) since 1994, Ex- Secretary General of Arab Renewable Energy Association at Jordan and Consultant for Renewable Energy Network (WREN) at UK since 1992.
He Published nearly 140 international refereed scientific paper and published about 70 books in Physics, Astronomy and Renewable Energy. He has ih-10 index 27, Cited by 1,700 researches, and has a Score of 34.76 at Research Gate (more than 92.5% of research members). He is an associate editor for many journals and a referee for more than 20 International journals in Renewable Energy and Suitability. His research is focused on Material Physics, Renewable Energy, Astronomy and Environmental Physics. He won many local, regional and international prizes as a researcher. He organized many International Conferences, Seminars and Keynote speaker in Renewable Energy.
He was Chairman for Accreditation Committee at Higher Education Council (ACHEC) at the Kingdom of Bahrain and currently is vice chairman of ACHEC, Member of National Committee for Prevention of Mass Destruction Weapons, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Member of National Bahrain Unified for Prayer Times, and Vice President of the Board of Bahrain Teachers College. He was awarded First Class Medal of Efficiency, by the King of Bahrain on Dec 2013 at by the King of Bahrain and the State prize for National Achievement in 1992.
