Dr Vincent Uzomah earned his PhD degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Salford, UK, where he focused on sustainable urban drainage systems and ecosystem services. He also holds a master’s degree in civil/public health engineering from the University of Leeds.
With over 25 years of experience in academia, Dr. Uzomah has developed a dynamic and student-centred teaching philosophy. He believes in fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills through an interactive and interdisciplinary approach. His lectures are known for being engaging and thought-provoking, often incorporating the latest research and real-world case studies. Dr. Uzomah is committed to mentoring the next generation of environmental scientists/engineers, guiding them through rigorous academic challenges while encouraging a deep sense of responsibility towards the environment. Dr Uzomah’s lecturing experience spans across both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has taught modules such as Environmental Engineering, Water & Wastewater Treatments, Highway Drainage Systems, Engineering Mathematics, Research Skills and Methods, Environmental Project Management, etc.
Dr Uzomah’s research interests are diverse, reflecting his extensive experience in the field of environmental engineering. However, most of his recent research are focused on the areas of Wastewater treatments, recycling of treated domestic wastewater, environmental impact assessments, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), Ecosystem services, etc. He has published several journal papers of high impact factors. He has examined and supervised many PhD students in areas of Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Management.
Dr. Uzomah is an active member of several professional organizations, including being a chartered member of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Managers.
